V-Infinity, a division of CUI Inc, has added a 3 W version to their line of 8-pin SIP packaged dc-dc converters. The fully encapsulated units measure 0.87 x 0.47 x 0.37 inches. They have been designed to take up minimal space while offering a 2:1 input range. These converters are ideal for any application where space is at a minimum such as test & measurement or portable equipment.

The VWRAS3 and VWRBS3 Series operate at full load in temperatures from -40 to 71 °C with efficiencies as high as 82% and at 60% load at 85 °C. The RoHS compliant converters offer input ranges from 9-18 and 18-36 V dc. The VWRBS3 Series delivers regulated single output voltages of 5, 9, 12, and 15 V while the VWRAS3 Series provides regulated dual outputs of +/-5, +/-9, +/-12, and +/-15 V.
