The SCALANCE X005 Industrial Ethernet entry level switch is an unmanaged switch with five RJ45 10/100 Mbit/s ports. The X005 offers most cost effective connection of devices to the Industrial Ethernet using a line or star topology where the most important requirements are: simple plug-and-play connection and low cost port expansion where a managed switch (i.e. SNMP management) is just too costly. The SCALANCE X005 has a robust metal housing (IP30) for space-saving mounting on a standard mounting rail, S7-300 mounting rail, or for direct wall mounting. The integrated holding flanges of the RJ45 ports on the front of the housing, together with the Industrial Ethernet FastConnect IE FC RJ45 Plug, ensure permanent and reliable data communication.
