An in-plane laser vibrometer is designed to measure the velocity of a surface moving in a plane perpendicular to the bisector of the two converging laser probes. The frequency shift (Doppler Effect) of the back-scattered laser light is used to determine the velocity. (read more)

Electron Beam Engineering has added a Low Frequency Beam Pulser to its Beamer Series line of EB Welders. The Low Frequency Pulser will modulate the electron beam during welding. By varing the pulse height, width, and frequency the total heat input to the part being welded can be dramatically reduced compared to welding with a continuous beam. (read more)
