Optical sights are optical lens assemblies used for aiming a gun. Categories include telescopic sights, visible sights, and infrared sights. Learn More
Optical lens assemblies are composed of a number of lenses mounted for a particular imaging function. These can include objectives, collimators, gauging lenses, etc. Learn More
Time of flight optical sensors determine displacement and distance by measuring the time it takes light to travel from the instrument to a target and back. Search by Specification | Learn More
Optical triangulation position sensors use reflected waves to pinpoint position and displacement. The source of these waves may be a light emitting diode (LED), infrared (IR) light, or laser. Search by Specification | Learn More
Optical lenses are transparent components made from optical-quality materials and curved to converge or diverge transmitted rays from an object. These rays then form a real or virtual image of the object. This area includes micro lenses. Search by Specification | Learn More
Optical materials consist of glasses, plastics, ceramics and coatings with reflectivity, opacity, color or other properties tailored for mirror, lens, laser or other optics applications. Learn More
Optical component accessories are used in the design or maintenance of optical components and systems. Learn More
Optical modulators vary the amplitude and phase of a light beam; e.g., from a laser or by sound waves. Learn More
Optical choppers are mechanical or electronic devices that pass and then interrupt a beam of light for a known brief interval. Optical shutters are used to control the amount of time that a light sensitive material is exposed to radiation. Learn More
Optical assembly and optoelectronic assembly services companies design assemblies and systems for optical and optoelectronic devices. Learn More
IC optical devices and optoelectronic devices are chips designed for optical and optoelectronic applications. Learn More
Optical comparators are instruments that project a magnified image or profile of a part onto a screen for comparison to a standard overlay profile or scale. Search by Specification | Learn More
Optical and light microscopes use the visible or near-visible portion of the electromagnetic spectrum to magnify images of objects. Search by Specification | Learn More
Optical time domain reflectometers (OTDR) measure the elapsed time and intensity of light reflected along an optical fiber. They are useful tools for locating problems in an optical network as they can compute the distance to breaks or attenuation. Search by Specification | Learn More
Optical isolators are optical devices that allow light to be transmitted in only one direction. They are most often used to prevent any light from reflecting back down the fiber, as this light would enter the source and cause feedback problems. Search by Specification | Learn More

The MPS-1400 Optical Drop Cable / Optical Node Stub is a connectorized assembly that is used to connect a fiber feeder splice point to an optical receiver node or Optical Network Unit (ONU). This eliminates the need to field terminate optical connectors or splice pigtails at the node enclosure. (read more)
Advanced Optics manufacturers single and double-sided optical flats up to 8" in diameter for use in test and measurement or as optical windows. Their flats are available either uncoated, with an anti-reflective coating or with a variety of reflective coatings for use as mirrors. (read more)
Manufacturers of precision and custom optical components for use in medical instrumentation, academics and research, and industrial applications. Their product line includes optical flats, flat mirrors, optical windows, beamsplitters, and custom optical components. (read more)
Optical windows are used in applications where it is necessary to isolate different environments while allowing light to pass through. When purchasing a window, it is important to consider the properties of the material as well as the requiremtents for size, transmission and wavelength. Advanced Optics offers precision and commercial grade windows both off-the-shelf and made to order. (read more)

Optical Systems Fabrication: Optical fabrication lies at the very heart of our operations and plays a vital role in maintaining our position as a world leader in the field in optics. Every step from grinding, polishing and coating through final testing utilizes the most advanced technologies and processes. Training of our opticians is performed through a four-year intensive program. (read more)
Master Bond's optical adhesive MS151 is a two-part silicone adhesive which combines silicone's inherent temperature resistance and flexibility with a refractive index of 1.43 and superb optical clarity. Its low viscosity assures complete fill-in around complicated contours. These key factors highly recommend the use of this silicone adhesive for optical potting, casting and encapsulation. Enlightened Design and Manufacturing
This is the first in a four-part series on "design for manufacturing and assembly" or DFMA for short — an innovative way to bring prototypes, or even cocktail-napkin concepts, into profitable production.

Master Bond debuts a clear, epoxy for bonding and potting optical components called EP29LP. It has an unusually low exotherm and forms high strength bonds of more than 3500 psi in shear. The clear adhesive encapsulant adheres well to optical fibers, optical connectors, lenses and glass. This casting compound exhibits good optical and thermal conductivity and good chemical resistance.
