Optical fiber identifiers are designed to non-invasively identify continuous-wave signals in fiber optic cables. They are low cost, hand-held tools that identify signals in single-mode fiber without interrupting service or damaging the fiber. Search by Specification | Learn More
Specialty optical fiber is modified, usually by doping, for a specialized function. It consists of one or more transparent fibers enclosed in a protective covering. Search by Specification | Learn More
Fiber optic proximity sensors use fiber optic technology to detect the proximity of target objects. Search by Specification | Learn More
Fiber optic cables are composed of one or more transparent optical fibers enclosed in protective coverings and strength members. Fiber optic cables are used to transmit "light" data. Search by Specification | Learn More
...and this term is used commonly in connection with semi conducting materials. Optical strain gauge types include photoelastic, moiré interferometry, and holographic interferometry strain gauges. In a fiber optic strain gauge the sensor measures... Search by Specification | Learn More
Fiber optic connectors are used to align and join two or more fibers together to provide a means for attaching to, or decoupling from, a transmitter, receiver, or other fiber optic device. Search by Specification | Learn More
Optical time domain reflectometers (OTDR) measure the elapsed time and intensity of light reflected along an optical fiber. They are useful tools for locating problems in an optical network as they can compute the distance to breaks or attenuation Search by Specification | Learn More
Fiber optic light guides are bundles of optical fibers used for the controlled deliver of light. They tend to be more rigid, and transmit well in both the visible and near-infrared (near-IR) regions of the electromagnetic spectrum. Fiber optic Search by Specification | Learn More
Fiber optic test equipment is used to detect the signal loss/change through a fiber optic cable. Search by Specification | Learn More
Optical triangulation position sensors use reflected waves to pinpoint position and displacement. The source of these waves may be a light emitting diode (LED), infrared (IR) light, or laser. Search by Specification | Learn More
Linear position sensors is a general search form for all linear position / displacement detection product areas. Search by Specification | Learn More
Fiber optic transmitters are devices that include an LED or laser source, and signal conditioning electronics, to inject a signal into fiber. Search by Specification | Learn More
Fiber optic attenuators are devices that reduce signal power in fiber optic links by inducing a fixed or variable loss. They are used to control the power level of optical signals at the outputs of light sources and electrical-to-optical (E/O Search by Specification | Learn More
Fiber optic couplers are optical devices that connect three or more fiber ends, dividing one input between two or more outputs, or combining two or more inputs into one output. Search by Specification | Learn More
Fiber optic fault locators shine red laser light through jacketed fibers to identify breaks, bends, faulty connectors, splices and other causes of signal loss. Search by Specification | Learn More

Optical fiber: the warfighter's secret weapon - CeramOptec
When laser-guided weapons reach their target, it's due in part to optical fiber. The U.S. Navy has used CeramOptec fiber in classified airborne flight applications. (read more)
The optical fiber receiver from MAZeT is intended for optical data transmission via polymer fibers (POF) of 980/1000µm, HCS fibers of 200/230µm, gradient index glass fibers of 50/125µm or 62.5/125µm fiber diameter and single mode glass fibers of 9/125µm, thus covering almost the entire area of industrial field bus communications. (read more)
CeramOptec is proud to introduce its new line of high NA optical fiber - Optran Ultra. Optran Ultra fibers offer unmatched performance with their 0.37, 0.44, and 0.53 numerical apertures. Ideal for a broad range of applications, from spectroscopy to sensing, CeramOptec's Optran Ultra fibers exhibit exceptional spectral transmission from 350 - 2200 nm. (read more)
Tapered optical fibers can be made either by fusing a short tapered section onto a longer fixed diameter fiber, or, by very carefully controlling the drawing process to produce a single continuous fiber with an integral tapered section. Fiberguide used the latter process since it results in superior fiber strength, alignment precision and optical power transmission. (read more)
When a leading manufacturer of optical fibers needed smooth, precise bearings that could withstand the harsh, abrasive environment in their plant, they turned to Nelson Air's LB series of linear air bushings. (read more)
