About Specialty Environmental Sensors and Instruments
Specialty environmental sensors and instruments are specialized or proprietary environmental sensors and instruments for measuring and monitoring certain physical characteristics. Specialty environmental sensors and instruments are used to monitor a variety of parameters, including pressure, flow, and motion, or to detect specific chemicals and elements, such as oxygen (O) or nitrogen (N). Specialty environmental sensors and instruments are often used in the field to establish conditions of a physical site.
Specialty environmental sensors and instruments are used in many kinds of environmental disciplines, including agriculture, horticulture, forestry, landfills, irrigation, civil engineering, and oil and gas refining. An environmental sensor is designed to detect one or more specific attributes in a particular ecosystem or site. For example, in mining applications, an oxygen sensor is used to monitor the quality of the air in the mine shafts to ensure the safety of the workers. An oxygen sensor can also be used detect the amount of dissolved oxygen present in streams and rivers.
